About paññā panya:
paññā panya: wisdom bakery
paññā means wisdom or insight in Pali, an ancient language of India.
panya means bakery in Japanese.
paññā panya is an onomatopoeia (or echoism) where repeated words create a phrase that resembles what it is describing. E.g.: a dog goes woof woof, a cat goes meow meow. All cultures and languages have onomatopoeia.
About Coach Nancy Li:

Hi, I am Nancy Li – a coach who believes that conflict is a portal to our own power because how we walk through conflict determines the power we give up, the power we claim, and the power we help others claim. It is possible for everyone involved in the conflict to step more into their power.
My work exemplifies this belief. I helped clients walk through conflict by:
- Coaching an executive leader to transform a land grab situation with a peer into a partnership that increased collaboration and integrated teams to meet personal and business needs. Our work focused on experimenting and discovering tools that help them reduce anxiety and make better decisions to enable partnership and communication in tense situations.
- Transforming a team of about 15 people from a toxic work culture into a human first culture within 6 months. This resulted the team getting new clients, successfully implementing new projects, and drastically turning around in annual employee survey. I conducted trainings on feedback, reflective listening, and dealing with difficult people, as well as held space to explore, discuss, and clarify the culture that the team wanted

- Coaching an emerging leader to step more fully into their leadership by helping them develop skills to manage complex projects with difficult clients. They were promoted within a year. We worked on self awareness and effectiveness in conflict engagement, client management, and project management.

Prior to being a coach, I was a business consultant in the pharmaceutical industry for over 15 years. I was a Co-Founder and Co-Director of the Collective Success Network, a Philadelphia non profit to mentor and support first generation low income college students. I founded and was the Director of the Women in the National Association of Asian American Professionals, Philadelphia chapter.
I have a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from New York University Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Biology and East Asian studies with a focus on Japanese from the University of Virginia. I am a Brand Ambassador for Kommunity, an all-in-one platform for events. I was a facilitator and mentor in the Compassion Course with Thom Bond and have a Certification of Completion. I am also the author of “Let’s Make A Cake!” children’s book and am a Teaching Artist of STEAM (science, tech, engineering, arts, and math) workshops to children in elementary school.
I believe in practicing what I share so I incorporate my experiences from daily meditations, 10 day silent meditation retreats, nonviolent communications practices, and asking for and receiving support into the work I do with clients.
I was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY from Chinese immigrant parents and identify with being first generation and low income so I understand the complexities of multi-cultural identities in seeing oneself and how others can see me. I love to read non fiction books about being human, psychology, and mindfulness. I enjoy brainstorming, having empathy exchanges, traveling to deepen relationships, and slowly knitting something that is wearable.
